GUILD LOVE NOTES

We had our guild challenge and awards ceremony last night. We had a full house and even some guests to view the quilts.

Your taped video was wildly popular and everyone loved it! Lots of good feedback from this challenge .

It’s been so much fun chatting with you over the past year .

I gave each participant a fat quarter (that I recently purchased from you) to inspire them to keep going and exploring the possibilities of these beautiful fabrics.

2022 challenge chair

In February 2025, the Albuquerque Modern Quilt Guild had the pleasure of welcoming Miriam from Quilt Africa Fabrics as our guest speaker. Her lecture on the history, using African Fabrics in modern quilting, and caring for African fabrics was both educational and inspiring. Our members were captivated by her deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the art and culture woven into these textiles.

The members loved the African / International Sister Block Swap that allowed some members to use African fabrics for the first time. It was a delightful highlight—connecting quilters across continents through creativity, color, and shared passion. Our guild members are still talking about how much they enjoyed it!
